Jim Shockley, a Republican from Victor who represents Senate District 45, is running for the state’s attorney general position. Earlier this week, his latest campaign finance report was released. As of the end of September, Shockley has raised about $54,000. However, $50,000 is from a loan he gave himself.
Contributions in the latest report include:
- Montana Coal Council – $300
- Montana Society of CPAs – $100
- Garfield County Republican Women – $100
- State senator Jason Priest (R-Red Lodge) – $100
- $200 from a “pass the hat” fundraiser from the Tavern Owners Association
- $310 from Rep. Gary MacLaren (R-Victor) who will be running for Shockley’s open senate seat
- $50 from Ravalli County road supervisor Dave Ohnstad
